Another great GIANT’S HEAD REGATTA

with Friday wine & rum tasting followed by The McKinley Band for great tunes and dancing, the only way to get the REGATTATUDE going.

Saturday Rattle Snake race was text book conditions with winds around 8-10 knots from the north, building to 15 knots for the race back. Last 2 white-sail boats finished at 3 pm, with lots a time to socialize on the docks, finishing the day with a fantastic dinner.

My apologies for having to turn a few people away, since all 90 dinner tickets were sold out by Friday evening.

Downwind start to Penticton on Sunday, August 12th, 2018 Giant’s Head Regatta.

Thanks to the 25 out of 27 skippers who registering online, now if we can also register all the meals online in time, to help our par-time kitchen to plan and prepare for all attending.

The new format race to Penticton and back did not get the cooperation of the wind gods and showed there is room for improvement, these will be made for next year.

We mostly got positive feedback and will do it again next year, with provisions to shorten course.

Hope to see you all in Summerland on the start line next year and from all of us at SYC, thank you.

Now lets repeat another weekend of REGATTATUDE in Kelowna this weekend.

Cheers
